The Five Elements

This was quite a scene. Around a big round table lied 5 chairs. One the biggest one was occupied by a small black cat. Its piercing eyes were looking straight into the eyes of a men right beside him.

The man was tall, slender but did look quite healthy. He was wearing a back tuxedo and black pants. He was the servant of the cat sitting at the table.

-Bring them here then

-As you wish Master.

Peter woke up feeling stiff. He had passed the day right before chasing animals with his girlfriend and felt like sleeping a whole day long. His girlfriend, on the other hand, didn't seem

to like the idea

- Come on Peter! Wake up! It's been 12 hours! you can't sleep more than that, can you? She said trough her muzzle

- Hmmpf, said Peter as answer to his girlfriend call.

- GOD! You're exasperating

Peter Finally stood up. He looked at her in the eyes and kissed her

- Good morning Sarah.

- Good morning Peter

He left the cave and breathed fresh air. « What a nice day. I wonder how i could have lived it as a human? » Peter asked himself. Indeed, Weeks ago, Peter had found a weird green herb in

the ground and it transformed him into a majestic green dragon. After having changed his girlfriend too, he found a nice cave in the forest and decided to stay there and live with his new

form. He did like it. It felt different than before, when he was a normal boy. He could pass days only chasing after wild animals to eat and roast the poor creature that dared enter the

cave without permission. After all, being a dragon changed him a bit, and it was ok.

He was about to turn around and go see Sarah when he noticed movement in the bushes. Thinking that he could catch a pray and eat it for breakfast, he stood there silently and watched. He

certainly didn't expect what was actually coming.

-You can stand up Mr. Peter. I am no pray.

Peter stopped breathing in shock. « Who is he? How does he know my name? Should I roast him?»

A man got out of behind the bushes. It was the same man than at the table earlier.

- May I come in? I have things to tell you?

They both entered the cave. Peter didn't know what to think. He didn't seem dangerous, nor did he seem harmless, but it felt like he could be trusted. They went into the Dining room ( or

more like... dining piece of cave) and sat on the floor since there was no table.

- I am Themedor, the servant of the Great Master. He wishes to have a audience with you, Peter.

- With me? What about?

- That, I can't tell you. It's a very secret affair and The Great Master didn't even tell me what it was about. He only told me to come and get you. He also said i would have to use any

means necessary to get You to come since it is extremely important.

- Any means necessary? Yeah right. Does he know I am a dragon now at least?

- Well of course my good sir. He knows almost everything.

- Hmm. He seems to be really important. So where should I meet him?

- Very far. Though i can't tell you exactly where since it is top secret.

- So you want me to follow you to a secret Location to see a secret guy tell me secret things?

- That's pretty much it.

- Then, no

- Really?

- I don't see why i should follow you there. It could be a trap or something to get rid of all the dragons in this world

- Trust me, it ain't

- It can be anything else.

- And what could convince you to come then?

- Hmmm... Maybe a nice cozy new cave on the side of a volcano surrounded in forest would be fun. And i want my girlfriend to come with me

- I can get you that. Though your girlfriend can not assist to the reunion, she can come with you for the road. We will go at your cave before arriving at destination to show her your new

home.

- Hmmmm. Then I guess it's alright.

Themedor stood up and went for the exit.

- Alright then. Gather your stuff and meet me at the door. We will depart as soon as you feel ready.

Peter went to see Sarah and they both gathered their stuff. He couldn't stop thinking that it was dangerous, but it really felt like The guy could be trusted. And two dragons could not

really face any dangerous situation right?

Stephanie was there, sitting on her rock. Tears were flowing out of her eyes again, like everyday since she had lost contact with her parents. Since the incident with her snake, nobody ever

heard of her. only rumors of a weird crying girl in the forest were heard. She had been transformed into a Naga, a half-human half-snake creature that is feared as a predator. She didn't

like that form. At all. It felt to her like it was more horrible every day. She had to eat small animals to survive and she didn't want since she always like them. But the worse was really

the lost of her parents. She could not bear it.

As she continued crying, she heard sounds from behind her. When she turned around, she saw a man. At first, she wanted to run away, but the man made her a sign not to be afraid.

- Don't worry milady, I am not here to harm you

- BACK OFF! she said between two sob. I'M A MONSTER

She slithered back at least two meters and kept her eyes focused on the man.

- You can trust me Milady. I'm am only here to ask you to come with me.

- NEVER.

- But you must, milady. The Great Master summons you and he really want you to be present. It is actually really important.

- And what would he want of an abomination like me?

- That, I cant say milady. But i suppose it can't be worse than being in the forest crying all day long right?

She didn't answer. Her tears had stopped flowing. She felt like that man meant no harm but she couldn't quite get why he wanted her to come. She slowly approached the man.

- So then, will you be coming?

She stopped approaching. She had to think about it. It did feel to her like a good idea, but she didn't want no company. Neither did she want trouble. She passed the two last weeks of her

life inside a forest crying and now we asked her to an important meeting. What could it possibly be.

- Alright, did she say with an hesitating voice. I'll come. Where are you taking me

- I am truly sorry milady, but i cant tell you.

- Why is that?

- Because it is a top secret location.

- But I will se the way to go there so it wont be top secret anymore right?

- Indeed, but when that arrives, it will be okay for you to see it. Now i want to present you the persons with who we will be traveling

- There are more people? I don't like where this is going

- They aren't quite... people. But i guess we could say that too. You can come Peter

Suddenly. a two giant dragons came out of the bush. At first glance, Stephanie wanted to run and hide herself. Only, they didn't look harmful at all.

- Hello! said the male Dragon. I'm Peter and this is my girlfriend Sarah!

- Hi! said the female dragon right beside him.

- H-Hello... said Stephanie with fear

- Oh don't be afraid. We mean no harm.

She didn't know why, but it really reassured her.

- Now shall we be going? said the man in back tuxedo.

Sebastian was swimming freely in the ocean. Since his transformation, he adopted the name of Samantha which Was way more fitting now. Indeed, about two weeks ago, Sebastian had been

transformed into a mermaid and has began a new life under the sea with her friend Elisabetha. They passed days swimming around and looking at beautiful corals. It was probably the most fun

thing that had happened to him since he was alive.

On the start of an afternoon like many other, He felt the urge to go see the beach where, two weeks ago, he abandoned his older life to begin a new one. as soon as he arrived, He breathed

the air of outside. Luckily for him, his gills allowed him to breath both over and underwater, which allowed him to go see the sun from time to times. He laid down on the beach and looked

at the sky. It was particularly beautiful this day. The clouds were small and round and the sun made it all magnificent. He smiled and thought to himself « Could i have appreciated a day

like that before? Or would i have seen it dark like every other day since I had such a bad life?» Before he could find the answer, a man approached from his right.

- Hello there Sebastian!

Samantha jumped. She turned around and saw a classy man coming at her calmly. Apparently, the sight of a mermaid didn't move him.

- Ehh... It's Samantha. Hello.

- Well okay... Samantha then. Quite a nice day isn't it?

- Yeah. Are you here to see it too? And how did you know my name?

- Actually, I'm am not here to see the sun but to ask you to come with me.

- Well... i cant really move on land you see?

- Oh don't worry about that, we will travel mostly on water. For the rest, we will find a way.

- Alright... and where are you supposed to take me and why?

- The Great Master Summons you. I am taking you to a top secret location for a meeting.

- Okay... and what is it about?

- Terribly sorry my lad. I can't tell you that.

- Why is that?

- Because i don't know. The Great Master wanted it to be totally secret.

- Okaay... That seems rather doubtful. Why should I follow you? I like my life here. I don't want to get stuck at the other end of the world with a so called "Great Master".

- Oh you will come back after the meeting. I will personally assure your safety on the trip both going and coming.

- Well. I guess it's alright then. Can I at least go say goodbye to my friend and go make my luggage.

- Yes but one last thing. I was to present you who we will be traveling with. Come on Peter, Sophie, Stephanie.

Two giant dragons and a weird snake girl came out of the street right above the beach. It took a great deal of determination for Samantha not to swim away in fear. We must admit that two

dragons aren't really a calming sight.

- AAARG! made Sebastian. WHAT THE HECK IS THIS TEAM

- Hey there said Peter, not a all worried. I'm Peter and this here is Sophie, my girlfriend. And this is Stephanie. Don't worry about her. She's not really talkative

She did not answer.

- Oookay...

- So then. made Themedor. We are almost all there. We will be taking a boat from now on. Our last member can be found on a island not too far from here.

- I don't see a ship anywhere. said Peter.

- Indeed. Just and instant.

Themedor said two words in a language nobody understood and suddenly, a large boat materialized in front of the companion. It was a giant ship made out of wood, big enough for all of them. A

small cradle on the side of the ship seemed to be placed there specially for Samantha to be able to enter the ship. All around the ship was a small river for her to be able to move around.

The dragons had even a small fake cave for them to feel at home and there was a small fake forest for the Naga.

- Impressive! said Peter. I didn't know you were some kind of mage.

- I also have my little tricks you see. The Great Master was really generous with me, even though it was necessary. Come on. We have a long road ahead.

Eva was flying around happily. After her transformation into a beautiful harpy, a half-bird half-human creature, she had found a cozy little island on which she had built a small home. She

was so happy of what happened to her that she could not even think about her old life. It was like paradise for her. Everyday, she would go out and fly, skipping most of the time dinner.

She felt the whole world could explode and she would still be happy.

One day ,two weeks after the most fortunate event of her life, she saw a very big ship coming straight at her island. Eager to welcome her guest, she dived straight for the deck of the

ship and landed in front of the most awkward team of people she could have imagined. There was that human there at the deck. He was quite classy. Black tuxedo, black pants, leather shoes

that seemed waxed. The classic rich guy.

But there was really weirder. There was two big dragons in a cave kissing each other and a weird looking snake-girl sitting on a rock and looking a the sea. They all turned around when she

landed.

- Oh Hi There! said the male dragon.

- Hello, made the female one.

- Welcome onboard milady said the man at the deck.

The snake girl didn't say a thing and just turned around to gaze at the sea again.

- Hello everyone! Eva said in a happy voice. You come here to visit me? Great!

- Actually, we come here to invite you to a meeting. said the man in black wears.

- What kind of meeting? said the girl without losing her happy tone

- An important one. Are you interested?

- Why of course! It'll be fun! What's your name?

- I'm am Themedor, said the man.

- I'm Peter! said the dragon

- I'm Sarah, said the other dragon.

The snake girl didn't answer

- And you? insisted Eva talking to the Naga.

The girl turned around and looked at her. Only sadness and despair could be read in her eyes.

- I'm Stephanie, she said in a low, monotone and bored voice.

- Nice to meet you!!

She just turned around in a sigh.

From the bottom of the ship, she heard a small voice calling.

- I'M SAMANTHA!!! it yelled.

Eva went on the side of the ship to see the mermaid swimming next to the ship.

- HELOOOOOO! she yelled. NICE TO MEET YOU!

- NICE TO MEET YOU TOO

Themedor cleared his throat to get the attention

- Good, said Themedor. Now that we are all present, let's go to the meeting.

After at least 4 hours of sailing and chitchatting, they arrived close to a small island. It was pretty much only a giant volcano surrounded by a rich forest.

- That's what I promised, Peter. said Themedor. that's where we have to leave Sarah.

- Yeah... He said, apparently not quite happy.

- Don't worry, the meeting isn't far away from here.

They disembarked Sarah on the island and proceeded to put Peter's things inside his new house. After a long goodbye between Peter and Sarah, Peter and the other went back on board to finish

the trip. From there, it took 5 minutes. they only found a small house floating on a raft. They all looked at each other. It was barely big enough for Peter to get in.

- How are we supposed to get in that? said Peter to Themedor.

- You will see when we get inside.

When they set foot on the island, everything seemed to grow immensely bigger. Actually, they were getting incredibly smaller.

- What it that! said Eva. It's Awesome!

- Hmpf. said Stephanie.

- Wow! Impressive! said Samantha, while getting smaller even though she was still swimming next to the raft.

- It's my masters magic. It allows his hideout to be almost invisible to humans but in fact big enough to hold tons of people.

They got a bath out of the ship, now four times smaller than before, and proceeded to put Samantha inside. After that, Peter took care of carrying it around since it was really light for

him.

They went inside and found a big table. Around it was 5 chairs, one being incredibly bigger and more precious than the other four. No one was around it.

- Where's The Great Master? said Eva out loud

- He is coming. Just getting prepared.

They all took place around the table and got comfortable. They had to find a bigger chair for Peter since he broke the first one with his immense body. Samantha needed no chair so they

stored it in the wardrobe at the end of the room. After all that, Eva started to fly around the room carelessly and they had to tell her to stop because she almost broke the roof light.

About 3 minutes later, Someone entered. They all turned around to see a small black cat with silky fur and piercing yellow eyes. It walked up to the table and sat on the big chair. It looked

at them one after the other. They were all looking at him astonished.

- I am The Great Master. Nice to meet you.

- A... A cat? said Peter?

- Indeed. I am the one many call God, mother nature or Great Master. I prefer being called Zenno. I brought you here today to explain this thing that happened to you two weeks ago.

At this moment, Stephanie stood up.

- ARE YOU THE ONE WHO MADE THIS HAPPEN!!

- Calm down Miss Stephanie. I am not exactly the one who did it. The world did. In order for the world to exist, 5 things must exist and be controlled. Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Law. Each

of these must be controlled by a Master. we call them Elementariss. The Elementariss make sure that the element they represent is under control and in great health. The 4 last Elementariss

have died two weeks ago. The earth needed new Masters of the elements. You are these people. Peter, Great dragon of the ancient times, is the Elementariss  of fire. Eva,beautiful Harpy,

glider of the sky, is the Elementariss  of Air. Sebastian, Charming mermaid, master of the tides and people of the sea, is the Elementariss  of Water. Stephanie, Powerful Naga, hunters of the

forest, is the Elementariss  of Earth. Together, you are the ones who make this world keep it's health and beauty.

At that time, Stephanie had sat down. She returned to her normal state of almost creepy sadness.

- You mentioned the Law in these elements. Who is the Elementariss  of Law?

- Well it's me of course. I am the one who make's sure everything coexists and i am the one who ensures that this world doesn't fall into chaos. I am also the one in charge of the other

Elementariss .

A great silence took place in the assembly. Everyone thought of that announcement in their own way

« AWESOME!! I CAN HAVE PLENTY OF FUN WHILE MAKING SURE THE WORLD IS SAFE! THIS WILL BE SO MUCH FUN!»Thought Eva

« Elementariss of water? I wonder if it is hard? Just hope it ain't dangerous and nobody want's to take our life. I like being calm and sleeping off on the beach not fighting greedy people»

thought Samantha

« Master of fire eh? Well that's an announcement. I wonder if it'll give me power of like spells like Themedor has» thought Peter

« So the world did this to me right? and now i have to serve it right? And i suppose that if i don't do it, many people will die and the world will be destroyed. I hate this job already »

thought Stephanie.

- So now. Your job is really simple. The elements behave as they will. In this world, there are small agents that make sure the elements don't do things they shouldn't. If they do, they

come and see you and  you must use your powers to stop him and put him at bay.

- So we do have magic powers? said peter. What are they like

- First of all you can speak to them from anywhere you can have access to them. Earth and air are quite simple. Water is anywhere you can find water, even if it is filtered by humans or

corrupted by radioactivity. For fire, Any source of fire will do. A lighter, a camp fire, or even a volcano.

- What about like... let's say mud. It's both water and earth right? Asked Samantha

- Indeed. You will then have to work together. Next is that you can control these elements. You can take control over a small part of the element. Though be careful cause the element will

try to regain it's authority and it might be a tough fight. Finally, you have the power to transform people. That's the most important. In this world, everyone is human. You have the task

to change some human for you element to exist. When you transform someone, everyone that knew him will forget they ever knew him and his thoughts and memory will be replaced by those of the

thing you transformed him into. Don't go think it is sad though because it is the normal way of life and it is how it is. Actually, Every mother has approximately 10 Childs but only some of

them are humans. Oh You can also create new species. Since the Elementariss  of air can do Birds and any other kind of animal who lives in the air, he can create new bird species. Water can

create new fish, Earth can create new Mammals or Reptiles and fire... Fire is the most interesting. No actual Creature has been born from fire yet, except for the mighty dragon which has

disappeared long ago. The task of the Elementariss  of fire is to create one. Though watch out. Every attempt since the beginning of time has went out of controlled and had to be destroyed.

- Oh... Seems like much fun. Said Peter sarcastically.

- I wish you all good luck in your tasks. And don't worry about transports. Being Elementariss  also allows you to teleport  from anywhere there is a source of your element. to anywhere

there is another one. Like right now, you could all go to your home. Water just has to go outside and dive, Air just has to start flying, fire can use one of the torches on the wall and

earth can use any plants or wood around. Goodbye and have fun with your new powers.

- Oh trust me i will! said Peter

- This will be FUN!! said Eva

- See you later guys, said Samantha

- hmpf, made Stephanie.

And they all disappeared
